If you’re looking for a relaxed campsite in South Devon, Pittaford Farm offers spacious, family-friendly camping on our small rural working farm, just five minutes from the coast and close to Dartmoor.
A warm welcome awaits, making it easy to settle in and slow down. Camping here feels like it used to — space to roam, room to breathe, and time together without the rush. A truly restful escape.
Children can explore safely, parents can properly switch off, and everyone can enjoy a calm, laid-back stay close to beaches, coastal walks, and countryside adventures.

Camping in nature – without the crowds
Safe & carefree
Our main camping meadow is a car-free zone, meaning no constant comings and goings through the field. This creates a safe, relaxed environment where children can play freely and parents can truly unwind.
Large pitches
The large flat pitches are arranged around the perimeter of the field, with a central playing area that provides a natural meeting point for children to make friends and enjoy open space together. Our gently sloping hillside and tree-lined edges create a calming natural backdrop, with plenty of room to unwind — or simply do nothing at all.
Laid back camping life
If you’d like to camp near friends or extended family, it’s easy with our named pitches — simply use our map to choose your spot and book side by side.
Every pitch has its own fire pit, with logs available to purchase onsite, making evenings around the campfire part of the experience.
Nature’s playground for all ages
Nestled within the South Devon landscape and close to Slapton Ley Nature Reserve, our campsite offers the perfect balance of adventure and tranquillity.
Walking trails begin right from your pitch, tawny owls are often heard calling in the evenings, and the dark skies make stargazing a magical experience.
Coastal days out
The vibrant coastal towns of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, and Salcombe are just a short drive away, making seaside days out easy — before returning to the peace and quiet of the farm.
Facilities
At Pittaford farm we like to make sure you have a really enjoyable camping holiday in every respect – and that includes the facilities. Everyone comments how good the showers are and being able to charge your phone or freeze your ice packs makes camping easy.
Two family sized showers rooms with hairdryer, shaver socket, basin and mirror.
- Four WC’s with hand basins
- An undercover washing up area with two washing up sinks and one more outside.
- Two fridges and a freezers for ice packs
- Electric sockets for charging phones etc. Please note we have no electric hook ups
- Fire pit provided on each pitch
- Free Wi-Fi on most of the site site, 4G & phone reception can be unavailable
- Please note we have no chemical toilet disposal facility
Recycling
You can recycle while staying here, it takes a bit longer to do – but it’s much better for the environment than stuffing it into landfill. Glass, tins/cans, plastic, paper, cardboard, drinks cartons, metal and foils, batteries and green waste can all be recycled on site.
Dogs Welcome
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at Pittaford Farm — we know they’re part of the family too. To ensure everyone can relax and feel safe, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times or securely tethered (for example using a corkscrew ground anchor) while on the campsite.
As we are a family-friendly site with young children and nearby farm animals, dogs must be under control at all times, friendly in nature, and not of a dangerous breed. Thank you for helping us keep the campsite calm, safe, and enjoyable for all.

Firewood is available to buy on site: £8 for a trug of logs, handful of kindling and a fire lighter.
There is no extra charge for large tents, gazebos, awnings, pup-tents, trailers etc.
